Wizkid’s son, Boluwatife Balogun, commonly known as Champz, has discussed his growing passion for music and his desire to carve out his own path, independent of his father’s success.
In a recent interview with Glitch Africa, the 14-year-old shared that his early exposure to music came naturally from his surroundings.
“My dad does music, I have friends who make music, and a cousin who plays the piano. I have been making beats and writing songs since I was young,” he explained.
Despite being the child of one of Africa’s biggest superstars, Champz expressed that he doesn’t feel pressured to live up to Wizkid’s global success. “There’s no pressure. I’m young. I mean, I’m 14. I still have a long way to go. I’ve accomplished a lot for my age already. There’s no pressure,” he stated confidently.
The young rapper has been teasing his own music and building a fan base online, indicating early signs of a budding career. With his recent media appearances, Champz seems ready to step further into the spotlight on his own terms.
