Media personality Daddy Freeze has broken his silence after rapper Jesse Jagz allegedly directed insults at him on social media. In a detailed response, Freeze shared what he described as “receipts,” offering a fuller picture of what transpired behind the scenes.
According to Freeze, he woke up to an unexpected and “insulting” post from Jesse Jagz, prompting him to clarify events leading up to the online tension. He explained that the rapper had earlier reached out to him privately, requesting to join his Instagram Live session.
Freeze said he provided his WhatsApp number after Jesse appealed repeatedly via direct message. What followed, he claimed, were several calls and voice notes from the rapper, who sounded distressed and agitated.
In the messages, Jesse allegedly pleaded: “Uncle Daddy, Daddy, Uncle Daddy, please, tomorrow I’m bringing some Idoma people there… If we allow 2Baba to go through this, God will punish all Nigerian artists.”
Freeze added that Jesse referenced speaking with fellow musician Faze and mentioned that 2Baba’s management had contacted him over the matter.
The broadcaster noted that he eventually granted Jesse access to the Live session — but the rapper’s appearance sparked concern among viewers. Freeze said many fans were left “traumatised” by Jesse’s state during the broadcast.
In his response, Freeze did not mince words. He stressed that Jesse Jagz appeared to need immediate support and professional care, possibly even more urgently than the person at the centre of the original discussion.
He further noted that many Nigerian entertainers are quietly battling substance-related struggles and urged the industry to confront these issues honestly rather than maintain a culture of silence.
The incident has since sparked broader conversations online about mental health, well-being, and support systems within Nigeria’s entertainment community.
