In a recent Podcast interview with Falz on House 21 TV, popular Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde opened up about the emotional struggles and trauma she encountered while working in healthcare.
She explained, “Medical work was making me depressed and angry. It was only through therapy that I realized I was carrying the burdens of many people’s suffering, which is common among healthcare workers,” she revealed.
Osunde, who is a trained physiotherapist, recounted a particularly challenging case to illustrate her struggles. She said, “As a physiotherapist, I work across all departments. Once, I was treating a 14-year-old girl with Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) caused by trauma from vaginal delivery at such a young age, which was too much for her body. Her baby also had cerebral palsy.”
