The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced funeral arrangements for the actor, who passed away on May 11 after a battle with kidney cancer.
In a statement released alongside the obituary, the family thanked the public for the outpouring of love and support since his passing and appealed for continued prayers for the late actor’s wife and the entire family during the difficult period.
According to the funeral programme, a service of songs will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, from 4pm to 6pm. Guests attending the event are expected to wear white.
A wake-keep is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at the family residence at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, in Arochukwu.
The funeral service and interment will take place on Thursday, June 18, in Arochukwu, Abia State. The service will be held at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, while interment will follow at the family compound.
A reception for guests will be held immediately after the burial at Mary Slessor School, with white also designated as the dress code.
Ekubo’s death sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and admirers across the entertainment industry, many remembering him for his screen presence and contributions to Nollywood.
