SUPER Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has named a strong squad of 23 players, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and veteran forward Asisat Oshoala, for the two friendly matches against Senegal ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Falcons will host Senegal on Friday, with a second game between the two teams scheduled for Monday next week.

Both matches will take place at the Remo Stars Sports Complex, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.

Madugu has also recalled midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and forwards Francisca Ordega and Gift Monday, while giving opportunities to Belarus-based Blessing Nkor and Turkey-based midfielder Kafayat Shittu to break into the squad.

There are also home-based goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, England-based Rofiat Imuran, Israel-based defender Sikiratu Isah, defender Tosin Demehin, midfielders Halimatu Ayinde and Toni Payne, and forwards Folashade Ijamilusi and Joy Omewa.

The trio of Christy Ucheibe, Shukurat Oladipo and Rinsola Babajide who won titles with their clubs in their domestic leagues in the recently-concluded season, are also invited.

Senegal will play hosts Morocco, Algeria and Kenya in Group A of the 2026 WAFCON taking place July 25 and August 16 in Morocco, while 10-time champions the Super Falcons will take on Egypt, Zambia and debutants Malawi in Group C.

This year’s WAFCON tournament will also serve as the qualifying competition for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals, with the best four teams qualifying directly to Brazil, while the fifth-placed team will be involved in an intercontinental playoff tournament for an opportunity to qualify for the finals.
