PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has projected a cost of N250 per litre for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) — a more cost-effective alternative to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol — in order to make mass transportation more affordable after discontinuing the payment of trillions of naira in fuel subsidies.
Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, stated this morning on Channels Television’s Business Morning that this was part of Tinubu’s “very important” Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative.
Ngelale further stated that the policy, which is chaired by the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will roll out 11,500 new CNG fuel cars in the near future, with a concentration on mass transit networks across the federation.
