OSUN: Man impersonating for wife caught during CBT examination

A MAN suspected to be an impostor was arrested on Wednesday at the ongoing state’s teachers’ recruitment exercise.

The man was said to have been arrested at the College of Education, Ilesha CBT Centre while trying to impersonate for a woman believed to be his wife.

Though the man’s name is withheld, he was said to be arrested by officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board was saddled by the Osun State Ministry of Education with the responsibility to conduct the recruitment exercise without interference.

It was while the officials of the examination body were conducting a verification exercise minutes before the commencement of the examination that the suspected impostor was found.

The said they found that his face did not match the photograph on the record of the applicant stored in the database of the Ministry of Education.

A statement issued by the Information Officer of the Ministry of Education, Roseline Olawuni, said the suspect had been handed over to law enforcement agents for further investigation and prosecution.

“It is shameful that somebody who wants to teach students academically and morally could be involved in fraudulent acts,” the Commissioner for Education, Folorunsho Oladoyin, was quoted to have said in the statement.

Meanwhile, this development may not be unconnected with desperation to secure a job for his wife as the announcement from the Ministry of Education in the state said that 31,000 applicants are jostling for 2,500 jobs.
