Tinubu to chair Aisha Buhari’s book presentation

FIRST lady, Aisha Buhari, will once again be the cynosure of all eyes months after withdrawing herself from full public glare into a quiet life.

This is as prominent Nigerians are expected to gather at the Presidential Villa on April 8 to honour the President’s wife.

The event is the public presentation of a book, “Aisha Buhari: Being different,” written in honour of the President’s wife, by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Women Affairs, Dr Hajo Sani.

According to a copy of the invitation, the event is being organised by the Office of the First Lady of Nigeria in collaboration with Women and National Development.

Those expected to grace the event scheduled to hold at the  State House Conference Centre include a national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who will chair the event; and Mrs Folorunsho Alakija who is the Special Guest of Honour.

Those listed as the book presenters are Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Dr Tony Elumelu, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Prince Arthur Eze, Mrs Bola Shagaya, Femi Otedola, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, Mr Jim Ovia, Chief Kessington Adebutu, Senator Daisy Danjuma and Captain Idahosa Okunbo.

The royal fathers of the day are the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; and the Egbere Emere Okori Eleme, King Appolus Chu.

Mrs Buhari had gone into hibernation by leaving the country unannounced in September, 2020 shortly after her daughter’s (Hana) wedding only to return on March 17 after six months.

An online newspaper, SaharaReporters, had reported that she relocated to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, citing security issues.

But shortly after, one of her aides, Kabiru Dodo, said Mrs Buhari was on a foreign medical trip.
