Ladipoe, M.I, Vector, Ycee trade bars in 2021 Hennessy Cypher EP3

THE third and final episode (EP3) of the 2021 Hennessy Cypher premiered today, and the lined up artists include Ladipoe, M.I, Vector, and Ycee, who showcased their fiery bars.

In the video, the prolific rappers were seen trading bars for a total of 3:50 minutes. Mavin signee Ladipoe opened the floor with some witty bars, after which he passed the baton to former Chocolate City Music chief, Jude M.I. Abaga, who showed why he is a respected rapper in African hip-hop with some hard-knock punchlines.

Lafiaji’s finest, Vector came afterward, and, of course, being a face of the Hennessy Cypher for several years, he did what he knew how to do best — putting the mind to consciousness before Ycee came along to conclude the cypher.

Presented by Hennessy Artistry, a unique integrated global platform that brings together some of the most talented artistes on stage for an eclectic mix of musical talents, through a fusion of music, art, and culture.

Sponsored by the reputable cognac company, Hennessy, the platform has made an undeniable impact on the urban culture in Nigeria, recreating and redefining pop culture trends. The Cyphers ran for a period of three weeks – every Tuesday, starting from September 21, therefore, making the October 5 episode the last for the year 2021.

This year, the rap heavyweights alongside other buzzing, talented rappers like Psycho YP, Barrylanes, Alpha Ojini, Legendarystlyes, Preacher Kingz, Laud Reyes, Escore Gatti, and Matosan entertain their fans with fiery and witty bars.

Last year, the lineup included a stellar selection of rappers including rap duo, Show Dem Camp, Falz, Teeto Ceemos, Jesse Jagz and CDQ whose verse was a seamless flow of Yoruba and English.

This year, the organisers doubled down on their mission to spotlight the best talent from the country, introducing megastars like Ladipoe, who has dominated charts this year and Legendary Styles whose single took over platforms such as TikTok and Thriller at the start of the summer.

Speaking on the Cyphers, Marketing Manager Moët Hennessy Nigeria, Oluwole Awoleke said: “Over the years, Hennessey has been heavily invested in celebrating Nigeria’s hip-hop culture and we have watched the dreams of budding artistes blossom into reality.

“Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, musical opportunities still abound in Nigeria, and this year, we are back again with another edition of Hennessey Artistry – the Cyphers. We will continue to support the creative industry in Nigeria by providing a platform for Nigeria’s wealth of creative talent to showcase themselves to the world.”

Over the past few years, Hennessy has established itself as a vital force in the Nigerian Hip-Hop/Rap scene. The brand has provided a unique global platform for emerging and established rappers to showcase their talents through a range of cypher performances that have stoked excitement from rap fans across the continent with each passing year.
