Victor Moses has promised to stay strong and fight back from his latest adversity, a long-term injury.
The former Super Eagles forward has been ruled out for at least six months with an Achilles tendon injury he sustained over the weekend.
He was stretchered off during Spartak Moscow’s 2-0 Russian Premier League win at Ural on Saturday, and his club announced yesterday that he would be missing in action for six months.
Moses, 31, admitted that it was tough to deal with but he is apparently determined not to let the injury end his career.
“Devastated to have suffered an injury in the game at the weekend,” the former Nigeria captain tweeted yesterday.
“I will be doing all I can to recover and get back fully fit as quickly as possible to help the team.”
Former Chelsea star Moses was grateful to Spartak Moscow for providing support and he vowed to the club’s fans that he would return in even better shape.
“Thank you so much to everyone at the club and all of the fans for your fantastic support. I’ll be back stronger,” he added.
Moses has been in fine form this season for Spartak Moscow, scoring twice in the first four games of the new Russian top flight campaign.
He joined the Moscow club permanently from Chelsea in July 2021 for €5m after an initial loan spell there.
The 31-year-old 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner with Nigeria has played 58 times for Spartak Moscow, scoring nine goals and assisting nine others.
