Europa League: Arsenal draw Van Nistlerooy’s PSV, Uzoho faces Man United test

Arsenal will play PSV Eindhoven, coached by Dutch legend Ruud van Nistlerooy, in the UEFA Europa League group phase, just as Francis Uzoho will be up against Manchester United.

The draw for the group stages of Europe’s second continental club competition was held today in Istanbul, Turkey.

In Group A, current Premier League leaders Arsenal will battle PSV Eindhoven, who got knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Rangers in the play-offs on Wednesday night; another Champions League dropout, Norway’s Bodo/Glimt; and FC Zurich of Switzerland.

Super Eagles goalkeeper Uzoho is on course to face Manchester United, after his Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia were drawn in Group E along with the English giants, Spain’s Real Sociedad and FC Sheriff of Moldova.

Uzoho has not seen any action for Omonia this season, but he will hope to be considered for selection against one of the world’s biggest clubs when they play United.

UEFA Europa Conference League holders AS Roma, managed by Jose Mourinho, are in Group C with Real Betis, Ludogorets and HJK Helsinki.

FC Midtjylland, the current club of in-demand Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, are in a tough Group F with Lazio, Feyenoord and Sturm Graz.
