THE Akwa Ibom State Government has lauded Hilda Bassey Effiong (Hilda Baci), who is attempting to enter the Guinness Book of World Records with her “Cook-a-thon.”

Ini Ememobong, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, in a statement yesterday commended Hilda’s brave endeavor.

According to the statement, she is well on her way to fulfilling the noble aim of giving favorable attention not only to herself and our country, but also to our state, by directly promoting its legendary cuisines.

Hilda, a 27-year-old Akwa Ibom chef residing in Lagos, has been trending on social media and other internet platforms since on Thursday when she began preparing various delicacies at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State, in her attempt to beat the Guinness World Record, which is currently held by an Indian chef, Lata Tandon, who cooked nonstop for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.

Hilda is expected to accomplish her target time frame of 96 hours today, May 15th, 2023, to become the next Guinness World Record holder.
