THE House of Representatives has moved the beginning of its plenary session from May 9 to May 16, 2023.
The Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, announced this today, Monday, May 15, 2023, on the official Twitter handle of the lower house, saying that the change will allow returning members-elect to participate in the second batch of the ongoing induction program.
He did, however, express regret for any inconveniences created by the postponement.
The statement read; “This is to inform all Hon Members and the general public that the House of Representatives will not resume plenary on Tuesday 9th May 2023 as earlier adjourned. The next adjourned date will be Tuesday 16th May 2023.
“This change is intended to allow Members to partake actively in the ongoing induction program of the 10th National Assembly. All inconveniences are highly regretted.
This would be the second time the House leadership is postponing the commencement of plenary. Recall that the plenary was originally scheduled to resume on March 14, 2023, but was moved to March 21, 2023. However, despite the fact that the plenary was convened on March 21, it was adjourned to Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
