NNPC sacks top management staff

THE Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has fired top management personnel who were due to retire in less than 15 months.

The news comes only days after the oil business announced the replacement and dismissal of three of its Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs).

Those affected by the earlier reorganization included Abdulkabir Ahmed, who was previously in charge of gas, power, and new energy; Adokiye Tombomieye, who was in charge of the upstream section; and Adeyemi Adetunji, who was in charge of the downstream.

They were succeeded by Olalekan Ogunleye as EVP power, gas, and new energies, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan as EVP upstream, and Adedapo Segun as EVP downstream.

The NNPC indicated in a brief statement this morning that the latest reshuffling was in line with its desire to revitalize its workforce.

“In our bid to pursue effective organisational renewal to support the delivery of our strategic business objectives, it has become imperative to rejuvenate our workforce,

“Consequently, in addition to the recent exit of three executive vice presidents, other members of management staff with less than 15 months to statutory retirement will be exiting the company effective 19th September 2023,” the statement said.
