A fire has ravaged multiple stores at Gusau Central Market, resulting in the death of one individual.
The fire erupted at approximately 9 p.m. yesterday night in the furniture section of the largest market in the state capital.
According to the Commander of the Nigerian Fire Service at the New Market office, Hamza Mohammed, the fire claimed the life of an unidentified shop owner who attempted to forcefully enter his shop to extinguish the flames.
Since 9 p.m. yesterday, firefighters from the state command have been combating the blaze to prevent it from spreading to other shops.
Mohammed noted that numerous shops were impacted by the fire, although the cause remains unknown.
