THE former governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong, has bemoaned the brutal killing of the state APC Publicity Secretary, Sylvanus Namang, by unknown gunmen in Pankshin, Plateau state.
The gunmen stormed a leisure centre yesterday night, firing at the APC spokesperson at close range and causing his instant death.
The senator for Plateau South Senatorial District in a press release signed by the media adviser, Simon Makut, expressed dismay over the brutal killing, saying that the savage act is appalling and barbaric to be inflicted on anyone.
Lalong, while condemning the act, called on security agencies to act swiftly and ensure that the murderers of the party officials are tracked down and brought to justice.
He also warned against speculations on the attack, saying that it is too soon to determine the reasons behind the killing, adding that the death is a huge loss to the immediate family and the APC in the state and the country at large.
The former governor also sympathized with the family of the dead and prayed to God to console them at this hard time with the promises that the APC family will do all they can to expose those behind the brutal killing and ensure that the culprits face the law.
