A fire outbreak today gutted parts of the Jama’a Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, sparking panic among residents and palace officials.

The blaze was still ongoing as of the time of reporting, with operatives of the Kaduna State Fire Service arriving at the scene to contain the inferno and prevent it from spreading further.

Eyewitnesses said the fire began in a section of the palace, prompting an urgent call for emergency response.

Thick smoke billowing from the premises attracted large crowds from surrounding communities.

Security personnel and local volunteers supported firefighters in managing the situation, while certain areas of the palace were cordoned off to allow emergency teams carry out their duties without obstruction.

As of press time, the cause of the fire had yet to be determined.

Authorities have not released an official statement detailing the extent of the damage or possible losses as efforts to put out the fire continue.
