SUPER Eagles striker Victor Osimhen netted two goals to earn Galatasaray a 4-2 victory at home tonight against Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
With the victory, Galatasaray clinched a fourth consecutive Super Lig title to extend their domestic dominance and claim a record 26th league crown.
The Istanbul side went into the match four points clear of second-placed Fenerbahce, with one more match left, needing victory to stay well clear after missing an earlier chance to seal the title in a 4-1 defeat at Samsunspor last weekend.
Galatasaray secured the victory in the second half with two goals from Osimhen, including a penalty, in between strikes from Mario Lemina and Kaan Ayhan.
The result sparked celebrations at RAMS Park and across Istanbul, with TV footage showing fans waving flags and torches, chanting and dancing with delight in cities around the country.
Fenerbahce, who were also runners-up in the previous four seasons, pushed the champions closest again but their wait for a first league title since 2014 goes on.
Osimhen, who is celebrating a second straight league title with the Istanbul giants, registered 15 goals and five assists in 22 Super Lig appearances this season.
In Spain, another Nigeria international, Akor Adams, came off the bench to score the winner as Sevilla came from behind to beat Espanyol 2-1.
The victory was crucial it lifted Sevilla from a relegation spot in 18th to 12th place in LaLiga, three points clear of the drop zone.
