THE Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the redeployment of its four deputy governors as part of an internal restructuring aimed at aligning leadership expertise with the bank’s evolving priorities.

Under the new arrangement, Philip Ikeazor will now oversee the Economic Policy Directorate, taking over the portfolio previously managed by Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi.

Dr. Abdullahi has been reassigned to head the Corporate Services Directorate, while Emem Nnana Usoro moves from Corporate Services to supervise Operations.

Similarly, Lamido Yuguda has been transferred from Operations to the Financial System Stability Directorate.

The apex bank did not provide specific reasons for the changes but explained that the redeployment is intended to leverage the experience of its senior officials across different strategic areas and support the institution’s changing operational and policy objectives.

The reshuffle affects all four deputy governors and represents one of the most significant internal leadership adjustments within the CBN in recent times.

According to the bank, the move is designed to strengthen institutional effectiveness by placing experienced officials in positions where their expertise can best contribute to the achievement of the CBN’s mandate and broader financial sector goals.

The announcement comes as the Central Bank continues efforts to enhance operational efficiency, maintain financial system stability, and drive economic policy implementation in Nigeria.
