Our inimitable Iyalode who started out with her heartthrob at the University of Ibadan earned her BA and Master’s degrees and distinguished herself as an educationist in Nigeria, America and the United Nations school in New York before icing the cake as Human Resources Manager of NAL Merchant Bank.
WE are very proud to celebrate our own ever rendering mother, Chief Sade Ogunbiyi, the revered Iyalode of Remoland, on her 80th birthday, Saturday, June 6, in this year of our Lord, who she worshipped ever so devotedly.
As pioneer Dramatic Arts Students in the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Prof Wole Soyinka was the Head of Department but our star go-to teacher was Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi whom we – somewhat mischievously – agreed owed his handsome bounce to the oxygen supplied by his beautiful incomparable wife, Sade!
It was so cool by us all to adopt her as our doting mother, following our Ife collective mode of being sons of Yemi and elder brothers of Tokunbo.
“Come to the house!” Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi almost always used to say to us, and we all knew this was because Mrs Sade Ogunbiyi was ever ready to provide comfy lodging and accommodation – plus feeding!

In our revolutionary class, we all worship women, and none can come any greater than Chief Sade Ogunbiyi, Iyalode of Remoland @ 80.
We fully dobale for Iyalode!
