THE People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has announced Aminu Zakari as his running mate.
In a statement released today, Bwacha said the decision followed extensive consultations with party leaders, traditional and religious rulers, youth and women groups, political associates, and other stakeholders across the state.
According to him, the choice of Zakari reflects the campaign’s commitment to building a united, inclusive, prosperous, and secure Taraba State.
Bwacha described his running mate as a civil engineer and procurement professional with over 14 years of public service experience, adding that Zakari possesses the competence, integrity, and leadership qualities needed to help deliver the administration’s vision.
He said the PDP ticket represents unity, inclusiveness, competence, and a shared commitment to advancing Taraba’s development.
“Our ticket represents unity, inclusiveness, competence and a shared commitment to moving Taraba State forward. We are determined to provide transparent, accountable and people-centred leadership that will unlock the immense potential of our state, restore confidence in governance and deliver meaningful development across all 16 local government areas,” Bwacha stated.
The governorship candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their contributions throughout the selection process and urged PDP members to remain united ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Bwacha also voiced confidence that the PDP would emerge victorious at the polls, saying the party is determined to reclaim what he described as its “stolen mandate” with the support of the people of Taraba State.
