THE president of the Edo Area Customary Court, Prescious Aigbonoga, who was kidnapped, is now free.

According to Chidi Nwabuzor, the public relations officer for the Edo State Police Command, who confirmed her rescue yesterday, a police officer was murdered during the operation.

Nwabuzor added that Aigbonoga was freed by the military and police team at a location inside the forest called Scorpion Hill, where she had been detained.

Aigbonoga was abducted on Monday while traveling to the Igueben Local Government Area in Edo, where she holds the position of President of the Igueben Area Customary Court.

Usiobaifo added that the chairman thanked the police and praised them for their quick action in the rescue.

Additionally, the chairman expressed his condolences to Mohammed Dankwara, the state commissioner of police, on the loss of the officer.

According to him, the chairman and his colleagues were grateful to Nigerians, particularly to members of the Benin Bar, for supporting Aigbonoga’s family while she was held captive.
