THE Federal Government has agreed to pay IHS Towers N1 billion to establish learning communities across Nigeria for the 3 Million Technical Talent programs.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, announced the collaboration on his X account today.
Tijani stated in the statement that the N1 billion funding obtained from IHS Towers covers not only financial support but also a commitment to pay the wages of 37 committed learning community managers for each location for the next three years.
“I am excited to announce a N1 Billion partnership between the @FMoCDENigeria (the ministry) and @IHSTowers to establish the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Learning Community. This initiative, which is in support of our recently launched 3MTT program, will facilitate the set-up of learning communities in the 36 states and the FCT.
“The N1 billion funding from IHS Towers also includes a commitment to paying the salaries of 37 dedicated learning community managers for each location for the next 3 years.
“This is the first in a number of partnerships that we will be securing in support of our targets, specifically for the 3MTT program and broadly for the Knowledge pillar in our Strategic Blueprint. #3MTT #NigerianExcellence,” the statement read.
According to Tijani, the 3MTT program is a vital component of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda.
The program aims to create a pipeline of technical talent in order to meet President Bola Tinubu’s goal of creating two million digital employment by 2025.
He also mentioned that the government will choose individuals who have demonstrated an interest in learning specific skills and will fund the costs of their training.
Among the technical trainings available are: Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis and Visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Science, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Cloud Computing, and Dev Ops.
