THE Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has refuted reports circulating online claiming that Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja was arrested.

In a statement released yesterday in Abuja, the commission’s spokesperson, Okor Odey, described a video alleging the judge’s arrest as false and malicious.

Odey clarified that the anti-corruption agency had neither arrested nor invited Justice Omotosho for questioning, stressing that the commission was not investigating the judge in any capacity.

He urged the public to disregard the video and avoid spreading unverified information that could create unnecessary public concern or harm reputations.

According to him, the ICPC does not have the mandate to investigate serving judicial officers.

He added that the commission holds Justice Omotosho and other members of the judiciary in high regard.

The spokesperson reiterated the agency’s commitment to professionalism and due process in carrying out its responsibilities.

He also advised members of the public to rely on official statements from the commission for accurate information and to verify the authenticity of content circulating on social media before sharing it.
