Nigerian actress, model, singer, and former beauty queen Scarlet Gomez is steadily establishing her position in Nollywood, with her emotionally charged performance in Behind the Scenes earning her a nomination at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
In a recent interview, the screen star opened up about her marriage and the boundaries, if any, she sets in her craft.
Talking about whether she plans to involve her husband in the movie industry, Gomez revealed that he is not entirely new to the entertainment industry.
“I think he’s already in it, one way or the other. You guys will find out soon, but music is really his thing,” she said, hinting at a quiet creative presence behind the scenes.
Addressing one of the most common curiosities about actors in relationships, how her husband reacts to romantic scenes, Gomez appeared unfazed.
“I married a man, not a boy. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t have a small ego, and he trusts me. We have been married for 9 years,” she stated.
On whether she regrets choosing acting as her career, Gomez was unequivocal.
“Regrets so far? No. I’m right where I’m supposed to be, and I’m grateful to God,” she said.
When asked if she has limits on the roles she accepts, especially if the pay is attractive, the actress emphasised artistic freedom over financial motivation.
“It’s not actually about the money. I am an actress; it’s make-believe, it’s not real. An actor should be a blank canvas; you should be able to allow yourself to be moulded into different things,” she explained.
However, she drew a clear personal boundary: fear.
“The only thing that would scare me is acting with snakes; I hate them.”
